My leg was amputated when I was 2 years old because of fibular hemimelia (no fibula bone) and a leg length discrepancy.  I grew up playing soccer, t-ball, and volleyball on an old SACH foot, and was ecstatic when I got my first dynamic response foot.  My dad was in the Air Force, so I’d lived in about 9 different houses in 3 different states by the time I was in 6th grade.  Needless to say, I was pretty good at being the new girl in school.  I started riding horses at the age of 9 and competed in 3-day eventing until I went to college in Virginia where I rode on my school’s dressage team for two years.  In March of 2013, I got a running leg and started running.  I now run regularly with Achilles International-Colorado, I’m an Ambassador Captain for Skirt Sports, and I assist the Colfax Marathon with their Athletes with Disabilities Program.  I’m a disability rights attorney at Disability Law Colorado, which is the designated protection and advocacy system for the state of Colorado.  I live in Denver with my husband and two cats and I spend my spare time training for triathlons.
